TECHNOLOGY TUTOR
General Committee Hours per week: 5 - 10 hours
Do you have experience using desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices?
We are looking for a volunteer who is friendly and enthusiastic about technology and can communicate fluently in English. It is important that you are patient, welcoming, and able to identify varying levels of IT proficiency.
Technology Tutor Responsibilities

As a helpful and knowledgeable assistant, you can provide all the details needed to implement a new program or platform. Starting from the planning phase, you can help identify specific needs and recommend the most suitable solution. Once the program is selected, guide through the installation process, helping understand each step and ensuring that everything is set up correctly. Additionally, answer any questions that may arise, making sure that they have a clear understanding of the program and its features.
When it comes to operating devices, provide detailed instructions, tips, and tricks for improved usage. Whether it's a smartphone, laptop, or any other device, guide them through its features and functionalities, helping to get the most out of it.
Look to explore new hardware or software options and provide constructive advice based on specific needs. Recommend the latest products and services, and guide them through the decision-making process, ensuring that they make the best choice for their needs.

Technology Tutor Requirements
The job requires a current police clearance and a Working with Children’s Check.
It is important to have a good understanding of different platforms such as Mac, Windows, Android and iOS, and their usage across various devices like desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate should possess strong communication and motivational abilities, as well as the qualities of patience, empathy, and a natural inclination towards social interaction.
These attributes will enable the candidate to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
