Invisible Illnesses Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with invisible illnesses, such as mental health disorders, chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, ADHD, and PTSD. We offer a variety of services to help improve the lives of our community members.

Available Volunteer Positions

We are currently seeking passionate volunteers to fill the following positions:

RECEPTIONIST

Be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing a welcoming and supportive environment while assisting with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate person or department

  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries professionally

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries

  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area

  • Assist with filing, photocopying, and data entry

  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars

  • Organize and coordinate events and workshops

  • Provide general administrative support to staff

 

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum commitment of three days per week, Monday-Friday, 9am - 3pm. Flexible scheduling is available.

LETTERBOX WALKERS

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteer letterbox walkers to help distribute promotional materials and raise awareness about our organization in the community. This role is essential for reaching out to individuals who may benefit from our services and programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Distribute promotional materials, such as flyers and brochures, to residential letterboxes

  • Ensure that promotional materials are distributed accurately and in a timely manner

  • Keep track of areas where materials have been distributed and report back to the team

  • Represent Invisible Illnesses Inc in a professional and positive manner while interacting with community members
     

Time Commitment:

  • This is a part-time volunteer position, with flexible scheduling. Volunteers can choose the days and times that suit them best.  Leaflets are generally ready for pick up on a Friday

CLEANERS

We are seeking dedicated volunteer cleaners to help maintain a clean and hygienic environment for our clients.

 

This role is essential for ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients in their homes

Cleaning Products

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize designated areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or scrub floors

  • Dust and polish furniture and fixtures

  • Empty and clean trash containers

  • Assist with organizing and decluttering as needed

Time Commitment:

  • This is a part-time volunteer position, with flexible scheduling. Minimum 2 hours per week.  Volunteers can choose the days and times that suit them best.

NAIL TECHNICIAN

We are seeking a volunteer nail technician to provide nail care services to our clients as part of our well-being services.

 

This role is essential for helping our clients feel pampered and cared for.

We know if we look good, we feel good.

  • Ensure a clean and hygienic work environment

  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with clients

  • Keep track of appointments and client preferences

  • Provide advice and recommendations for nail care

ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Administrative Assistant to support our office operations, ensuring the smooth running of our organization and supporting our team in delivering essential services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general administrative duties (answering phones, managing emails, filing).

  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of correspondence and reports.

  • Maintain and update databases and records.

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and events.

  • Support the team with project management and event coordination.

  • Assist with social media and marketing efforts as needed.

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, volunteers, and stakeholders.

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum of 2 days per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 3pm. Flexible days.

EVENTS & FUNDRAISING MANAGER

We are seeking a passionate volunteer Events and Fundraising Manager to help plan and organize events, campaigns, and initiatives to raise funds and awareness for our organization.

This role is crucial for supporting our programs and services and ensuring their success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events and campaigns

  • Identify and secure sponsorship opportunities

  • Collaborate with team members to develop fundraising strategies

  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events

  • Maintain records of donations and fundraising activities

  • Assist with marketing and promotion of events

  • Evaluate the success of events and campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement

GARDENERS

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteer gardeners to help maintain our client outdoor spaces.

 

This role is essential for ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients in their homes

Gardener

Key Responsibilities:

Basic General Garden Maintenance:

  • Lawn Mowing

  • Edging

  • Weeding

  • Pruning

  • Leaf and Debris Removal

  • Pathway Cleaning

Time Commitment:

  • This is a part-time volunteer position, with flexible scheduling—minimum 2 hours per week.  Volunteers can choose the days and times that suit them best.

MASSAGE THERAPIST

We are looking to recruit a professional, courteous massage therapist to provide our guests with a wide range of massage services. The massage therapist will consult with guests to screen them for underlying conditions, and to assist with selecting appropriate services. 

Massage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized space

  • Setting up work stations, and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness throughout the shift.

  • Assisting with keeping linens clean and tidy, and replacing them between sessions.

  • Sterilizing equipment.

  • Maintaining records and filing documentation.

  • Complying with all applicable standards, rules, and regulations.

Time Commitment:

  • This is a volunteer position, with flexible scheduling. Minimum 1 day per week Volunteers can choose the days and times that suit them best.

TUTOR

To be a successful tutor you must be punctual, friendly, and approachable.

 

A good tutor will make students feel comfortable enough to share what they are struggling with and find new ways to help students with their unique challenges.

Teacher and Student

Key Responsibilities:​​

  • Remaining up to date with the school curriculum and subject-specific content.

  • Traveling to students' homes to provide lessons.

  • Ensuring that if any changes need to be made to meeting times, it is done in a reasonable time frame.

  • Maintaining communication with parents to update them on the student's progress.

  • Researching learning resources to use during lessons.

Time Commitment:

  • This is a part-time volunteer position, with flexible scheduling. Minimum 1 hour per week 

 

POLICE CLEARANCE & WWCC ESSENTIAL
